Honoring Juneteenth 2026

In commemoration of Juneteenth 2026, the White Marsh Historical Society hosted a Juneteenth Family Day at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie, Maryland. The day’s events included genealogy workshops, musical performances, a libation ceremony, family activities, and the unveiling of new storyboard markers that honor the community of individuals who were enslaved and labored at the White Marsh plantation. Speakers at the program included Descendant researchers, church leadership, and Center Director Adam Rothman.
